Love

LOVE - THE THING WE'RE REALLY ALL AFTER

At the end of the day we are all seeking love in one form or another.  Whether it be from a partner, family, friends or "the people"... somewhere down deep we all need to be loved.  The love we need can't be bought... the game of life would be too easy if it was.  Money is an awesome tool that can bring lots of things and experiences but not everything that we are really after.  So many people have climbed to the top of a money pile only to see emptiness on the horizon... or so I've heard.  I'm still climbing.

Allowing ourselves to feel love on a daily basis can be much more difficult than it seems.  In our heads (read we and our as me and mine - it's just easier to pretend I'm not the only one) sometimes we need to feel worthy of love in order to let it in.  If we are not receiving the love that comes our way, we are missing out and our quality of life is diminished.  Probably one of the best things we can do for ourselves is meditate (Or just think to ourselves) for 5 minutes a day about being worthy of love and being open to receiving it.  I deserve love, you deserve love, let's make sure we savor every drop and let's definitely not let it go to waste unenjoyed.  That would be like dumping a bottle of fine wine or whiskey on the ground because we don't feel worthy of drinking it.  Bad plan.

The next best thing to do, that is damn free, is giving love to others.  Whether it be with actions, words, intentions or just smiles, giving love must be the best way to receive love.

I bet that today, I could open myself up a little more to feeling worthy of receiving love in about 5 minutes of time spent just thinking to myself that "I deserve love".  Then, I can consciously give love to others with words, actions, thoughts, or intentions for another 5 minutes.  My bet is that my real, visceral and experienced return on investment for the time and effort put in would be hard to beat in any market anywhere in the world.

Often times, beyond the things and experiences that we seek, our true desire is to become more attractive and admirable to others in our lives.  We want their approval.  We want the significance of it all and the love and acceptance that comes with it.  Why not take a few minutes, even 10 seconds, wherever you are right now and invest it on one of the best ways you possible can.  Open yourself up to receiving love because you do deserve it, then give some love to others.  Your day will be better and your quality of life will improve.  High quality, no cost.
